A shared love for natural materials, creativity, and experimentation brought TR and Villa 17’s owners together. The young couple envisioned a home that reflected their vibrant personalities, where their daughter could grow up appreciating art, and their parents’ functional needs were met; a space for both retreat and joy. Their openness to ideas allowed us to embrace the project with enthusiasm.

Interior design is more than just furniture and paint; it starts with a well-planned shell. Thoughtful space planning, natural light, ventilation, and efficient services eliminate the need for excessive decoration, saving material and cost while enhancing a space’s inherent beauty. This philosophy defines Villa 17’s design; where good design doesn’t distract but elevates.

Joining the project midway through construction, we addressed concerns about space and light by refining the layout and optimizing window placements for better illumination. Proactive client involvement accelerated progress, resulting in spacious, airy rooms with seamless furniture arrangements and circulation. Plumbing and electrical revisions aligned with the new layout, minimizing the need for false ceilings and reducing costs.

The fusion-themed interiors blend designer concepts with the clients’ vision, creating a tapestry of meaningful details. This collaboration is immediately visible in the foyer-living-dining area, where wood, grey oxide flooring, and dark green accents set the home’s tone. A striking cement tile pattern leads to the courtyard and staircase, bathed in the soft glow of the skylight. This cozy nook, complete with a bookshelf and tall potted tree, is the family’s favorite reading spot.

Arches and partitions subtly define main living areas, distinguishing the foyer, pooja, living, and dining spaces. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and the kitchen follow the same principle, allowing for well-planned layouts and ample storage. Repetition unifies the design, from patterned flooring and wooden ceiling rafters to fluted glass, wardrobe detailing, and curated bathroom tiles.

Custom-crafted details elevate the interiors; hand-painted wardrobe handles, a landscape artwork painted directly on wardrobe shutters, and rust-colored ombre walls infusing warmth into the family space. The kitchen’s mint-green laminates and rubberwood elements create a cheerful aura. Kota stone, a client favorite, enhances the Master Suite with rich textures; its varied shades in the bathroom add depth, while diamond-patterned flooring in the bedroom pairs elegantly with teak and dark grey finishes. It’s cool surface comes alive under natural light.

The artistic sensibility extends to the terrace, envisioned as a Santorini-inspired retreat. Featuring an all-purpose room, a porch with a kitchenette, and an expansive landscape terrace, this space adapts to the family's evolving needs. The clients’ existing furniture ensures flexibility, transforming the central space from a living area by day to a playroom or home theatre by night. Subtle European touches, such as a white brick wall and French windows, bring cohesion to the eclectic mix. As evening lights illuminate the terrace, it becomes a magical setting for gatherings; a sanctuary within their home.

Executed by an in-house team, the project reflects high-quality craftsmanship, material efficiency, and adherence to timelines. Villa 17 is a beautifully crafted home, blending subtle luxury with everyday functionality—a space where the family will create cherished memories for years to come.
